MRK 205
Quasar Markarian 205 beside galaxy NGC 4319 in Draco, with NGC 4291 and NGC 4386, photographed by Pete Lawrence.
Target details
Markarian 205 (Mrk 205) is a Quasar located near the galaxy NGC 4319, 77 Mly (Million Light-years) away from Earth.
NGC 4319 is a face-on barred spiral galaxy in Draco, about 77 million light-years away, with a bar, an inner ring and moderately tight arms. It sits close to the galaxies NGC 4291 and NGC 4386, and X-rays from the gap between them suggest NGC 4319 and NGC 4291 may be interacting. It also has a much higher share of ionised hydrogen than the Milky Way.
NGC 4291 is an elliptical galaxy located about 85 Mly away, in the constellation of Draco.
NGC 4386 is an elliptical galaxy located about 85 Mly away, in the constellation of Draco.
MCG+13-09-023
Unfortunately I cannot find much information on this galaxy, I expect it's distance is greater than 200 Mly.
